About Treatment Works Centre
Often, we think we have to go it alone, that no one is there, no one understands. Yet, if we pause for just a moment and look up, we discover we are not alone, there is support, all it needed was only to realise this and reach out! We are a team that is all about mental health care. Let us introduce ourselves!

At 16, I had a calling to become a psychologist, to help others. Why, I don’t fully know. I just know that helping others and seeing them grow, develop, and express their potential is deeply meaningful and fulfilling. I believe that all change is now, in this moment, in our relationship. When you feel understood, accepted, and safe, you can relate in such a way that, in time, the change you hoped for then is the change happening now. How we relate determines the nature and quality of our being (Vorster, 2011). Living is the expression of wholeness.

I am passionate about seeing how people create meaningful relationships, both with themselves and in their environment, that assists them to develop and self-actualise. The way I work is from an Integrative Interactional Approach, this means that I see the individual as a holistic system, by looking at both the person’s internal psychological processes and how a person relates to their environment. How we interact with ourselves, our environment, and the people around us determines our well-being.

What gives me joy in helping others is knowing from experience the truly powerful and profound, mobilising impact of real empathy and compassion, and the sense of relief it can bring an individual in distress. I find it better to work from a place of always seeking to understand you better, employing creative therapeutic techniques that you can relate to, and really trying to help you feel safe and accepted while resolving whatever is causing you distress. It’s both a choice and a privilege for me to be in this profession and to be part of your mental health journey. In this day and age, it can also be a choice and a privilege for you and your loved ones to be mentally healthy and lead happy lives.

Every person deserves to be the happiest version of them self, deserves to enjoy life. It brings great appreciation and fulfilment to see someone becoming aware, growing and developing, becoming grateful, and in turn giving back and appreciating others. I try to create a structured and organised environment, with honest and clear communication, and visible, tangible results. ‘’You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging’’ - Brené Brown

I believe that warmth, deep understanding, acceptance, and care are essential to any therapeutic relationship. When experiencing this, clients feel strengthened and better able to understand their experience, confront their challenges, and embrace the positive and meaningful aspects of their lives. Therapy then is a journey of self-discovery and growth. During this process, I try my utmost to walk alongside my clients as they journey towards healing, self-improvement, uncovering their true potential, and ultimately living more fulfilling and authentic lives.

I see therapy as a phenomenal opportunity to experience the healing power of human relationships. I aim to provide a space that is empathetic, empowering, and conducive to clients' growth and development. As with any relationship, the dynamic and process can sometimes be challenging. However, the power of therapy lies in working through and overcoming these challenges, as well as experiencing breakthroughs that lead to a better understanding of oneself and others. This carries benefits like experiencing an overall sense of clarity and gaining the courage to lead better and healthier lives in all life domains. My role is to walk with my clients on their journey with understanding, presence, and commitment to their well-being at all times.

My journey towards becoming a psychologist grew from a deep curiosity about how we relate to ourselves and to one another. I use a relational and person-centred approach, creating a warm and empathic space where clients can feel safe enough to explore their experiences at their own pace. Each person’s story is influenced by a unique combination of biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors, and understanding these contexts can open the door to meaningful change. I approach each interaction with curiosity, care, and respect, recognising that the process of self-understanding can be deeply therapeutic. I aim to walk alongside clients as they reflect, grow, and gently challenge patterns that may keep them stuck, supporting them in their journey toward a fulfilling and authentic way of being.
